    Anthony Hemingway

    DIRECTOR

From the outset of the project, Michael has identified Anthony Hemingway as the man he wanted to direct. Beyond being a Golden Globe, Emmy®, BAFTA, PGA, and NAACP Image Award winning director, Hemingway’s storytelling lives at the intersection of impact and entertainment. Angeli is calling on Hemingway’s considerable ability to do justice to McGuire’s on-court dominance and the impact he had as a mentor without losing the fast-talking New York coach’s street-savvy humor.

With credits spanning The Wire, The People v. O.J. Simpson, PowerGenius: Aretha, Underground, and his feature debut Red Tails, Hemingway has shown an ability to shape stories that capture humanity as they reflect culture. Hemingway is behind Mara Brock Akil’s Forever (Netflix), which debuted at #1 and was  quickly renewed. Coming this fall: All’s Fair (Hulu), a collaboration with Ryan Murphy, and Boston Blue (CBS), the pilot for the highly anticipated Blue Bloods spinoff.
