Perfect Timing
On average, a film takes around two and a half years to move from concept to production to release, though some projects spend a decade or more in development before reaching the screen. Fortunately, The Confessions of Al McGuire already has a wonderful completed script, key leadership roles in place, and casting discussions are now underway.
The timing for this project is also especially meaningful, with the potential to be perfect timed. March of 2027 marks the 50th anniversary of Al McGuire and his Marquette Warriors capturing the national championship. That milestone will naturally generate widespread media attention, commemorations, and celebrations. Aligning the film’s production and release with this anniversary offers a unique opportunity to honor McGuire’s legacy, the achievements of the 1977 team, and engage fans of Marquette and college basketball alike.
This is why completing the final round of funding is important if we wish to align with the championship year’s timing.
